    Facebook Timeline

Couldn't find an answer searching existing threads. What happens to the vBulletin Facebook App on 30 March when all Facebook pages are forced to convert to the timeline format?

I paid for the Facebook App, but I am having serious second thoughts about installing it.

Nothing, the timeline is nothing to do with the app - nor are pages...
    Vote for:

    - Admin Settable Paid Subscription Reminder Timeframe (vB6)
    - Add Admin ability to auto-subscribe users to specific channel(s) (vB6)

Not true. Logged in to my company Facebook page this morning and found this notice at the top of the page:

          Coming Soon: New Facebook Pages
On March 30, 2012, all Facebook Pages will get a new design. Preview your page now to see what it looks like and try out the new features.

I followed the link to preview. It is the same timeline format that is coming to everyone's Facebook profile.

And that has absolutely no effect on the app as the App has no integration with pages or timelines. The only integration into pages is where you (the customer) addss that integration through the page's settings to add a tab or link.

This change to Facebooks page layouts has no effect on the vB FB App

I guess I am still confused. If the vBulletin app does not appear ON the Facebook PAGE, where does it appear? On a separate page with a link from the Facebook PAGE? I watched 2 or 3 videos on YouTube and thought I understood how this works. Maybe I don't.

It appears in an iFrame on it's own page:

Log into Facebook to start sharing and connecting with your friends, family, and people you know.

Thank you. Yes, I did misunderstand. Never noticed the //apps.facebook in the URL. I have been assuming this would appear directly on my page.

How are people getting users from their page or profile to the app?

You can how ever put page tab for it on your facebook page, we have upgraded to the Page Time Line... (All pages will switch to time line Mar 30th) good news is now you can set your app to a wide format for Pages Tab:

Basic Settings -> Page Tab -> Page Tab Width -> Wide (810px)

But there is no option to make any page tab a default one.

Go to http://www.facebook.com/urgentfuryfb and then click on the forums and wallah

Apps are not pages. They can't be used on pages. You can add a tab to your App from your page though. As far as I am aware, this won't change except instead of a tab, you'll have a tile linking to your app.

I think you meant Apps can be added as a tab on your page...
