Sporadic errors with quoting and editing

On my forum running vB4.2.5, users are experiencing sporadic errors with not being able to quote others´ posts, and also not being able to edit own posts.
I haven´t found any system to this, since it seems to affect all sub-forums and threads, as well as all users, including moderators and administrators.
It also seems to have gradually increased in frequency the last month or so, without any reasonable explanation, as far as I can see.

Any tips on where to start digging would be greatly appreciated.

I might add that I'm totally new to running vBulletin, so I might just have missed something really obvious.

Sporadic Errors simply isn't definitive enough to provide any support. We need more information on what is happening.

What OS are the users using?
      What browsers are they using?
      What are these users experiencing?
Are there JavaScript error's in the browser's Console when they experience errors?

OK, sorry about not being more specific.

I have reports from users running on Win 10 and using IE and Chrome, at least.

What they're experiencing is that sometimes (it does not seem to be systematic) are unable to quote other users´ posts - pushing the quote button simply does not do anything.
And, again sometimes, are not able to edit posts (this also goes for moderators trying to moderate posts). The editor window is simply empty.

I will post a poll on the forum to find out more specifics concerning OS and browsers.

Concerning browser Console - how do they check that? EDIT: Disregard this - I googled...

OK, so the users have reported errors with the following:

          OS: Win10, iOS
          Browser: Firefox, Safari, Chrome

In addition, and I've no idea whether it's related, many users are being queried by captcha asking if they're robots. This isn't something I've enabled.

I sent this request to support a few days ago, but am unsure what to expect in terms of waiting time for a response.

We are going to need details of the errors from the browser console. None of this happens on a default installation, and without the specific errors all we can do is guess.

Can you replicate these issues with your own account, or test account that is not an admin?

As Mark said, we need to know what the errors are and how to replicate them so we can provide an answer.
