We have an officers discussion forum on our site, and have set permissions so the officers (special usergroup) are able to view and comment threads. Been using this for a number of years. Everything was running fine till last night. Overnight, none of the officers can view the forum.
I, as an admin can see it ok. Checked all the necessary permissions and when you pull up who's allowed, the proper users display that they should have access, yet they don't.
Any ideas on what may have changed? I ran all the typcial maintenance things, cleared the cache, yet the problem persists.
Running 4.2.5, PHP 5.6.40 I am the only admin and didn't change anything. Was working fine at 1:30pm yesterday afternoon, Today at 11am, it isn't.
I've been able to force the permission by overiding each officers 'access mask' setting that forum access to 'yes' rather than 'default' With that setting, each is able to use the forum as before. But don't like the idea of using an overide to correct an error somewhere.
Ideas?
