    CMS access denied

I have a persistent problem with the CMS on my board that I have had no success if working out.
Users are not able to access the CMS and get the access denied message:

Click image for larger version Name:	CMSmsg.JPG Views:	0 Size:	35.5 KB ID:	4405889

The obvious place to look would be in the CMS Permissions table and ensure the User Groups are permitted. This hasn't changed
since the fault appears and is correct. I've looked through everthing I can think of and found nothing works to correct this
problem. The only thing that does give a User Group access is if I give permission to Edit Others Content. Even the
Administrator User Group can't access the CMS without that option being turned on.

Can anyone give any clues to where this fault is coming from.

    I'm running VB4.2.5 PHP V5.6 and MySQL 10.0.37-MariaDB-cll-lve

    Thanks

    Steve

I used to run into this problem a lot back when vB4 was current and people were upgrading.

From memory - as a first step, in AdminCP > CMS > Permissions, you need to be at the top level and have the permissions in the first two columns (Can Read, and Can Download Attachments) ticked for the relevant usergroup. Then go to Clear System Cache.

      Tried as suggested... no change.
I've tried clearing out all the permissions across the CMS, then clearing the cache. Then giving permissions in those first two columns just to Administrators. then cleared the cache again.
      No change! Mmmmm

Can you please put in a ticket?
I will need a superadmin account and also an 'ordinary' user account where the problem can be replicated.
I'm sure I can fix this...it used to happen quite commonly.

May have got to the bottom of it...all the articles were unpublished. Publishing at least one article restores access.

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
            Working...
