Age in profile

It would prevent someone from entering an age over 100 if you have such a field.

After fielding a largish number of erroneous new member registrations, a common entry in the profile field for age is to insert a rubbish entry. I note there's a PCRE "trap?" in the regular expression option.
Will this work correctly - I think it stops those above 100 registering
