Issues with Posting a Long New Thread with Links

Good Afternoon,

I am at a complete loss trying to track down what is causing this issue. The site is very old, with lots of add-ons, and I have fixed quite a few things but have no idea where to start on this one.
We recently migrated to a new server, this issue was not occurring prior to that migration. We have also performed a lot of fixes on the site since that migration, so I'm not 100% sure when this started, but it was definitely within the last two weeks.
1. vBulletin Version 4.2.2 PL3
2. PHP Version 5.6.36
3. MySQL Version 10.0.32-MariaDB
4. Any Addons installed Yes, many. Table below. Strikethrough is inactive.
5. Does the issue occur in a default style? Yes
6. Error message on the screen' Goes to custom 404 page, but no custom 404 page is specified that I can find.
7. Browser and Browser version used. Many. Chrome Version 67.0.3396.99 (Official Build) (64-bit)
8. A list of steps that can be used to recreate the issue. See post information below in code tag.
I'll be glad to get any other information to assist with troubleshooting this problem.

This thread is for notifying your fellow folders of hardware deals or personal sales. It is similar to a thread in the benching team's lounge. If we find sales are occurring outside the classifieds (NOT the intended structure), it won't remain.

Please, no discussion/bargaining in this thread. If you wish to contact your teammate about a specific deal, work through PM (Private Message), their FS (For Sale) thread, or another thread... not this one.

Things to include in a heads-up post:

Forum: Where do you have it listed.
Part Description: What is “it”.
Price: Per forum rules, you must list a price for the item(s).
Link: Provide a link to your item(s). While this could be another forum, it CANNOT be an auction site.
Trading outside of the classifieds (on this forum) is against the rules! Even if you and a teammate have already agreed on a sale through PM, it is always best to create a FS thread (with immediate sale); that way there is a record of the sale. If you are unsure of the forum rules for the classifieds, "https://www.overclockers.com/forums/announcement.php?f=78&a=65#classifieds"]please refer here. In the event that there is a conflict between this thread and the forum rules, the forum rules will apply. The rules may change without notice so feel free to take a look at them any time.

Example of a heads-up post:
Selling an i5 750 for $170 shipped / $150 for team members.
https://www.overclockers.com/forums/...d.php?t=649064
Of course, the reduced price for teammates is completely optional! It happens a lot with the benching team; some of the benching teammates already give the same deal to any OCF teams (benching/F@H/seti/rosie/etc.). If you do offer a discount for team members, we encourage you to consider each team within the Overclockers.com community. Again, there is no requirement to offer any discount.

Example from another forum:
i7 2600K @ XS for $270
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=269501
Note that some people may not have access to forums' classifieds. Such is the way of things, but it doesn't hurt to share in case they do. :)

Right now we are a small community but we are a very active and powerful community. We hope that you find this feature to be helpful and add to your enjoyment in all Overclockers.com teams.
If you remove "http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=269501" the post goes through fine. If you try to edit in that same URL after posting you get the same error.
The crux is though, if you create a new post with minimal text or no text other than the link, it posts just fine.

This happens with other longer posts which contain links as well, I can provide those if need be.

At this point I'm lost of where to even start... thank you in advance.

Update, I have narrowed down part of the link causing issues.

You may also need to increase the amount of memory allocated to each PHP script. If it is below 128 MB, then you should increase it to that value. Since each script runs quickly and terminates, this has very little impact on overall performance.

Our PHP Memory Limit is set to 128MB, I can increase further if necessary. I assume that is the memory limit you are referring to.

128 MB is usually sufficient. However, some sites do require more.

It's not only about PHP Memory Limit though, is it?

If you post long posts, it's also about Max Post size, is it not? I have that set to 256MB. And MySQL Packet Size set to 256MB

There are even other variables that can affect it. Memory Limit is the most likely culprit.

256 MB is overkill. You should never be storing files that large in the database. A post can only be 16 megabytes in size if attachments are stored in the file system. 16 Megabytes is the equivalent of 8,000 double-spaced pages of text with 2,000 characters per page. Unless your posts are encyclopedias, it is highly unlikely that you would go over this. More often than not, larger isn't better. It is just a waste of resources.

This issue came down to an apache2 modsec rule which for some reason was being directed to a 404 instead of 500.
