    Renaming admin CP directory

    Hi Guys

    VB 4.2.5 PHP 5.6.32

I've just renamed my admincp folder and also made the amendment to it's location in the config.php file.

There's no problem with me accessing it, but when I do, I get the following warning message.

"Warning: The Admin Control Panel directory (controlpanel) does not match the directory set in config.php (admincp).

Please update the $config['Misc']['admincpdir'] setting in config.php to match the directory where the Admin CP is found."

Also the admincp link at the bottom RH side of the forum is defaulting to the old admincp/index.php location and not the new one as amended

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this may be the case, or what I may be missing?

This error literally means what it says. There's a discrepancy between the name of the folder and the name set in config.php

Check your edits carefully, particularly to config.php.

Quite honestly, doing this is pointless these days. It offers no security at all, and indeed the facility has been removed in vBulletin 5. You should password and / or IP protect the admincp directory using htaccess.
