It's on vB 4.2.4, I'll try to do some more digging into the matter and if I find a solution, I'll post it here.
Anyways, much appreciated, as always.

Seems like a bug. If it doesn't work in vBulletin 4.2.5 then, unfortunately, it probably won't get fixed. I can't tell with the issue is with the third-party editor component or vBulletin 4's implementation. However, vBulletin 4.2.5 is currently the last planned release of the vBulletin 4.X series.
The functionality does appear work in at all sizes in vBulletin 5.Leave a comment:

google.com is not a valid URL. https://google.com is a valid URL.
When I use a valid URL, the functionality works.- google.com @ *Thumbnail* / *Medium* / *Large* is working
- google.com @ *Full Size* isn't working

The software isn't designed to do this by default. Embedding an image just embeds the image.
You will need to surround the image tags with URL tags as well, to achieve the effect you want.
Something like this should work:
Code:[noparse][URL=www.pathtoyourimage.com/yourimage.jpg][IMG]www.pathtoyourimage.com/yourimage.jpg[/IMG][/URL][/noparse]
Furthermore, the settings on the screenshot up there is working perfectly fine. What doesn't work however, is when I select *Full Size* settings. So, it's very much a settings inside vBulletin.
Please, help.

Parsing URL Links Doesn't Work?
Hi,
I'm still having this problem: when I upload an image into a post and want to include an URL link (clicking on that image will take you off the site), it just doesn't work. Is it a glitch?
