    facebook plateform issues

I made a facebook dev app and it's running
then enabled facebook in vb control panel, including skip registration feature

now the facebook connect button appears but it redirects to the registration page, and you only appear logged in on the registration page, nowhere else

what's wrong with this facebook plateform, does this feature work as an alternative to registration?

Facebook probably won't work properly in vB4 - Facebook keep changing their code, and vBulletin 4 is no longer being updated to reflect such changes.

      I see :/

      thanks for the answer, appreciated

I know you won't listen and vb4 not updated blabla
but damn, you should know nobody likes or uses the bland vb5
users buy vb5 only to use vb4 instead, there must be a reason
someday you should consider listening to the user base, scrap vb5 and restart vb4 development
this should be common sense but .... damn =/

It does still work on some setups, so it would be worth going through our most recent Facebook setup instructions:
The instructions are current as of April 4, 2016. This post can also be accessed from the shorted URL: www.vbulletin.com/go/fbconnect You must first have your

These were written for vB5 but the basic principles are the same.

There is no chance of vB5 being scrapped - a lot of time and development resources have gone into improving it, and this continues to be the case. It is a far different product to when it was first released.

my facebook is setup as described in your guide but there is an issue on my website

I can login with the fb connect button but it always redirects me to the registration page where I appear logged, however as soon as I leave the registration page I do no longer appear as logged and I can't do anything a member could, it wants me to register an account instead for some reason, despite the fact I've enabled the two step login thing to allow fb users to skip the registration entirely

I have a problem with facebook login, but a little different. In my case work ok, but not in firefox. The icon appear only in few ocassions and rarely appers in CMS. I don't know why, but is a problem. VB4 have a lot of little problems in general.

Nothing has changed. vB4 will not be updated to reflect the constant changes in Facebook. We are keeping vB5 up to date, and even that is a challenge since Facebook constantly move the goalposts.

Sorry, there are no plans to update FB in vB4.

If you update fb for vb5, it should be easy to update for vb4 as well, just some copy paste, right?

So why so cruel with your good vb4 customers?

                          vB5's code is completely different.
