There isnt going to be a next version, 4.2.5 is the end of the line. (RC2, then Final in May)

Thre have been no bug reports for a while now.

It has very many things need to improved on vB4 to make it a better forum software
but as said, it depends on the decision of vB team.
The decision of us is only continue using or move to another one.

vBulletin 4 is not going to be developed at all beyond 4.2.5.
That decision is not going to change.

No it doesnt, it depends on the decisions of IB management.
As Mark says, after 4.2.5 there is about a zero chance of any more development.

You have, in reality, been quite lucky to get as far as the PHP7 work and 4.2.5 (+3.8.11).
