    Help with installing vB

I just recently got a VPS because shared hosting wasn't strong enough for me. But when I tried to install vB again, I get this error. And even GoDaddy support won't help.. all they do is tell me to Google it.

"Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysqli_init() in /home/innsomnimania/public_html/urbanvapekartel/uvk/includes/class_core.php on line 1348"

Any idea how to fix it?

The hosts need to enable mysqli support on the server.

They told me to do it myself. But didn't say how.

Best bet is to ask the hosts to do it.

I'm afraid if your host tells you to 'just Google it' then you need a new host.
We can't provide support for the server installation - your host is meant to do that.

You should get back onto them and explain the issue, they have not set up your server correctly.

If he has a VPS, then unless it came as a managed package (which is highly unlikly) then he is expected to manage it, not the host, so their replies are correct.

How you install it depends on what OS is on the server to start with.
TBH, if you are asking questions like that then you should not really be using a VPS, as you need to be able to maintain them yourself.

It is managed, but only by cPanel. It's not fully managed. But I did however find out how to enable MySQLi, I think. Here's what the shell says, does this mean it's enabled?

Also, I'm an excellent researcher and studier. This is my VERY first VPS experience, because shared hosting, you don't manage at all. I wanted to try my hands at this, and so far, I've only hit a couple of snags, but resolved them fairly easily. And all by researching and learning how.

I leave you with one quote, an old Chinese proverb.

"He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes, he who doesn't ask a question remains a fool forever."

My interpretation of that is, how do you learn without asking questions?
