Server move, then images move to database

Greetings,

I recently moved to a new server and was having permissions issues with attachments (stored as files). I had the system move the attachments to the database, now they are all corrupted saying "cannot be displayed because it contains errors".

I have a good backup of the files (#.attach and #.thumb files). Is there any way to re-import them into the database?

I found some odd permission issues on the image and thumb files. They had the executable bit set. I tried viewing one via the browser (like: domain.ext/attachments/1/0/2/3/1234.attach) and that worked.

Could I set the image back to the file system, then upload from backup? Will that fix it?

I did fix the permissions, set attachments back to files, and uploaded from backup. Seems to be working.

As an aside, your original query was only posted about seven hours before you complained about the lack of support. The forums are not monitored in real time, staff are looking after both the support forums and the support ticket system, and additionally we have staff working in multiple different time zones. We're not on duty 24/7 of course, so there are going to be periods when you don't get replies for several hours. Even then, we may be working on other customer issues, and we can't just drop those....

As a general rule we advise not bumping threads until 24 hours has elapsed. If a more urgent response is required then a support ticket is generally better, but even that will not be 'real time'.
