Problems when using search in forum

Hi

I have upgraded my forum from 3.8 to 4.2.3. Right now the search function doesn't return any results, only returns the threads created from the upgrade. The threads created with vb 3.8 are not displayed as results when searching with vb 4.

Can anyone help with this issue?

AdminCP > Maintenance > General Update Tools > Rebuild Search Index

Depending on the size of your forum, this could take hours or even days. You can leve your site open though while it's running.

This task can be executed in background while it is doing al the rebuilding indexes?

Yes, it can run in the background while your site is open - however you will get mixed results from search while it's ongoing. I'd leave AdminCP open on the page that's displaying the search indexing progressing until it finishes.
