    how can someone recover it.
There is one topic in the forum which tells uploading tools.php file.
i have done that but it never asks me vbulletin customer number or gives me option to make a new member ?
Can someone explain how to recover admin password step by step Please.

Try to login as that admin and when it fails, you can start the recovery process. You will need access to that user's email to reset the password. You'll enter and email address and the system will send you an email. You'll click the link in that email and the system will send you a new temporary password. Once you log in, you can change the password.

The procedure with Tools.php doesn't recover passwords. It allows you to elevate a registered user to an administrator if you have no access to the specified email for that user. If that is the case, you will register a new user normally with an unused email address. Upload tools.php into your admincp directory. Run tools.php in the browser. Click the link to create the administrator. Enter the username you want to elevate. Submit the form. Delete tools.php from your admincp directory. Then you should be able to log in as the new administrator.

You would load the tools.php on your server like any other web page. You shouldn't be clicking on it on your desktop. Once uploaded to the admincp directory you would go to:

yoursite.com/forums/admincp/tools.php or whatever directory you have your forums installed in.

You'll also need to upload the /install/ folder from the download package, it needs to go into the forum root.

tools.php needs this folder present in order to run.
