I am using 4.2.3 and getting ready to switch to a competitor. My site has over 17,000 pages in the site map and has under 1200 indexed. The domain is over 8 years old and the site has been in this current form for over 2 years. What am I missing with this script?

There are many things that could be at play here. Can we see the URL?
How many backlinks do you have
How much fresh content to you have every day
What's in your robots.txt file?
Domain age is one factor buy far from the only one google uses to index your site.

We have 5-10 fresh articles daily for the last few years.
We have 2400+ backlinks
We have 18,037 pages in the site map.
We have 1041 Indexed.
My Robots.txt file looks like
