Missing old Attachments after Update from 4.2.2 PL4 to 4.2.3

    Hi

we got a big problem with missing attachments after the Upgrade to 4.2.3 and we got no reaction to the Support Case we opend.

The actual vBulletin Version is 4.2.2 PL4.
All attachments are stored in the mysql-database.

The update process run without any errors and the Board runs fine.

The next day, all attachments, before someday in Februar 2011, where deleted.

We only use the standard cleanup - jobs, which where included in vBulletin.

    Could anyone help?

    Best regards

Its not actually a bug in 4.2.3, in fact its almost the opposite, a bug which prevented deletion was fixed.

The issue is that you have attachments with incorrect data in the attachment table, they are apparently marked as unused, when they are still actually in use. Thats a database mismatch issue.

However, its possible for us to help prevent such an issue (in any future version) by adding a step to the next upgrade to check all attachment records and correct any that appear to be corrupted. There is a Jira for this already.
