    vbseo problem help please !

My forum seems to have been hacked because of a vbseo exploit... i have had to restore a full backup.

    1. How do i fix my vbseo to stop it from being exploited ?
    2. how can i remove vbseo and keep my links which have been indexed.

any help would be great thanks...

First you need to remove VBSEO as you have found it is no longer supported or secure.

Removal instructions including redirecting URL's https://web.archive.org/web/20130122...all-vbseo-238/

      Thanks... !

my threads are like this... does anyone know if this rewrite actually works ?

If you have your thread rewrite rules set as forum-name/threadname-threadid.html use the following .htaccess Code:

      RewriteEngine on RewriteRule [^/]+/[^/]+-([0-9]+)\.html http://www.domain.com/forums/showthread.php?t=$1 [L,R=301]

It's the .htaccess file in root. Delete all the VBSEO rewrite rules and add the one you quoted above remember to replace domain.com/forums with your actual URL

You can test if the redirect works by clicking on one of your already indexed VBSEO url's

widgetinstance 262 (Related Topics) skipped due to lack of content & hide_module_if_empty option.
          Working...
