    Moving webhosts

Is it possible to move the forum to a new webhost?

Yes. Close the forum, copy the database and files to your new host and re-point the "A" records. Re-open the forum on the new host and wait for the A record changes to propagate (anyone who sees the old forum will get the closed message).

A good host should be helping you achieve the move - if they aren't interested, then perhaps you've made the wrong choice!

For a different domain, you should update the URL settings in the admincp *before* making the transfer.
Otherwise, the process is much the same.

So I update the settings in the ACP then do the backup? Then move it?

            Yes that's basically it.

You'll struggle to get into the admincp if you do it the other way round.
