    Facebook Issue

    So, on a new install of 4.2.2 PL4 i enabled the facebook option.
    Although the connect button appears on the forum header no matter how many times i click it the connection does not make any attempt to actually connect.

    There is no publish to facebook option on the quick reply but the like button appears at the upper left of the forum page.

    I have inserted my ID and secret password etc

    Any ideas?

      To have any chance of Facebook Connect working at all, you need to be running 4.2.3.

      Then,you'll need to follow the instructions here:
      www.vbulletin.com/go/fbconnect

      This shoud get Facebook Connect working, but Publish is unlikely to work due to changes at Facebook's end.

        I'm struggling to install 5.6 PHP and in fact have requested my host do it, they are also struggling to install it, so, are trying version 5.5 and will have it installed soon, hopefully.
        Anyway, before my server crashed all my sites running 4.2.2 PL2 were able to connect to Facebook and everything worked perfectly.
        I cannot believe that my server crash coincided with Facebook changes at their end.

        I hate facebook with a passion, but, it is so much a factor for my members that i fear losing them.

          Sorry i missed your reply, but, i can tell you that by putting the forum url to the site where you suggested worked, to a point, i still cannot publish to facebook and get the following error now.
          I have tried using the full path to the forum (including the mysite.com/forums/forum.php) and also just to the mysite.com/forums, bothy show the same error.

          I'm pretty sure that everywhere the forum is listed i have inserted the same address (by copy and paste method)
          Any further ideas?

            Update, have managed to upgrade the PHP to 5.6+ and have installed the latest version of VB, 4.2.3, so, all good there, i can now publish by clicking the publish button but i do not get an option of where to publish too, it simply goes straight to my own timeline.
            I want to be able to publish to a given site that i am a member of.

            Any more ideas?

              Hmm, i just noticed a share button beside the like button in the upper left of each page in a thread, this works, but, is this the fix?

                Oh boy, set up another forum as one i had was hardly being used, created the facebook app and did everything the same as both of my other sites that work perfectly.
                Remembering to put the Client OAuth Settings in, put the relevant info into the adminCP and i cannot get any links to show, no like or share at the top of the page and no publish to facebook in the quick reply position.
                adminCP shows facebook is supported and all links are set to yes

                Has something changed to not allow this to work?

                I have 2 sites that work and this new one just will not
                Non working site = http://scottishminis.com/forums

                VB = 4.2.3
                PHP = 5.6.11
                Mysql = 5.5.44

                  Unknown, but quite possibly.
                  Facebook are constantly changing things, its difficult to keep up with them, and almost impossible on vB4, since its not in active development.
