Upgraded to 4.2.3RC1 and facebook still not working

Facebook Connect works (though it was before). But other features still not working. When liking a thread and leaving a comment, it does not post on Facebook. Nothing happens. When I tried to reply to a thread and check Publish to Facebook I get this:

Invalid Scopes: publish_stream. This message is only shown to developers. Users of your app will ignore these permissions if present. Please read the documentation for valid permissions at: https://developers.facebook.com/docs...in/permissions

The document they link to does not help me at all. I find result on a Google search, but nothing that helps with vBulletin. I thought doing the upgrade would fix this, and now I am at a loss....

    vB 4.2.3RC1
    PHP Version 5.4.38
    SQL Version 5.5.42-37.1
    Using default style

Additionally, when I try to Publish to facebook using a different account, a popup box comes up and disappears very quickly so I can't see what it says, then it doesn't unchecks the publish box.

I have a feeling that further changes to Facebook's API might mean that "Publish" isn't going to work.
We have no more information at this time.

The problem I have with that - I know FB doesn't "play nice" - but there are plenty of sites that have FB integration - so it obviously can be done. I think it's a matter of version 4 not being a priority. This is not acceptable - those who paid for it should get the features that were promised with it.

vB4 is not a priority, that has been made quite clear on many occasions.

The priority is the current version (vB5) and that isnt going to change.
Facebook keep moving the goalposts almost monthly, vB5 will keep up as much as is possible, but vB4 simply will not.

Just a quick question to the vbulletin staff:

how much ressources will take to the company to allocate a programmer for less than a hour to apply a modification to the code like this?

vBulletin 4 is not under active development at all. The only work it receives is security patches and php compatibility issues.

This is not going to change, sorry.

Regarding Facebook, even if we change the code, it will break again within a few weeks. This is Facebook's model at the moment, they constantly move the goalposts.

In terms of the article concerned, vBulletin has many files and many different places where the code would need to be changed. And it's not also not simply a case of 'find this > replace with this'. There is more to it than that. Finally, you then need QA resources and multiple beta releases to properly test it. These resources are all focused on vB5 now.
