[CMS] Permission Settings

I am finally making use of my Vbulletin License, and and have a question on how to setup permissions.

Please Pardon my ignorance as well if this is simply, and I haven't found the options yet. But basically, I wish guests to be able to see certain content/widget's on the home content page, but to keep the forums to only registered users.

Please check AdminCP -> vBulletin CMS -> Permissions for the CMS group permissions; also check AdminCP -> Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager for general group permissions.

The widgets will display what guests have permission to see - if they can't see the forum content, they can't see forum threads listed in a widget.

But what about restricting only certain widgets on your 'content.php' page? Ie, I've created a static HTML widget that I want only registered users to be able to see? It looks like you have to disable everything, and can not do it on a per widget basis?

The only way to show some widgets to some usergroups and other widgets to other usergroups is to copy the template used, enter the new template name into the widget configuration screen, and then put a condition around the widget template to only show it to certain usergroups. Of course, if it's a php widget, then you can put the condition in there.

Yeah, I'm thinking use of php widget would work well, as I really dont' want to go messing with the templates to much.

I"m still reading up, but haven't figured the proper "$output = <your code>" to show a condition if the user is logged in or not.
