I am looking to create a forum on my existing list of forums that is opt-in only. Basically, no members will see anything from this forum and it's sub-forums unless they choose to. Ideally they would see the forum in the forums list, could go into the forum and then opt-in to it. At that point they begin to see "new posts" from that forum etc. I know there is usually 'more than one way to skin a cat', so any tips on how to do this best would be appreciated. Thanks!
Best way to create an opt-in forum that also contains sub-forums?

Create a custom user group and mark it publicly joinable. Assign the permissions so this usergroup can see the forum and therefore its sub-forums. Once people join the usergroup, they would be able to see everything.
You can create usergroups in vBulletin within the Admin CP under Usergroups -> Usergroup Manager. Users would be able to join in their UserCP or Settings page.Translations provided by Google.
