[Forum] Phrases not working in email

Okay, this is unusual, and I was hoping someone could shed light on this.

I sent myself this email through the email manager:

    Dear $username,

Thank you for registering at the $vboptions[bbtitle]. Before we can activate your account one last step must be taken to complete your registration.

Please note - you must complete this last step to become a registered member. You will only need to visit this URL once to activate your account.

To complete your registration, please visit this URL:
    $vboptions[bburl]/register.php?a=act&u=$userid&i=$activateid

**** Does The Above URL Not Work? ****
If the above URL does not work, please use your Web browser to go to:
    $vboptions[bburl]/register.php?a=ver

Please be sure not to add extra spaces. You will need to type in your username and activation number on the page that appears when you visit the URL.

    Your Username is: $username
    Your Activation ID is: $activateid

If you forgot your password, you can reset it by following this link:

If you are still having problems signing up please contact a member of our support staff at $vboptions[webmasteremail]

    All the best,
    $vboptions[bbtitle]

    --------------------
To stop receiving this email, please visit this URL:
    $vboptions[bburl]/register.php?do=deleteactivation&u=$userid&i=$activateid
In the email some phrases work others don't.

However, $vboptions[bbtitle], $vboptions[bburl], $vboptions[webmasteremail] do not work, though $username and $activateid do work.

    The email will literally say:

To complete your registration, please visit this URL:
    $vboptions[bburl]/register.php?a=act&u=51865&i=96db0a56a2dc7a19e5be16138cbce5e9788c77c9

Why is this? How can I fix it?

Oddly, I create a new test account. The exact same email was sent automatically and it works. Why does this email work when the site sends it automatically, but it doesn't work when I use the email manager?

Phrases will work only on automatically emails. if use email manger you can use those variables only ( $userid, $username, $email, $activateid, and $activatelink.)

Is there a reason for this or a way to change it?

Those variables were never included for use in AdminCP. To change this requires modifying the code. We cannot officially support code modifications or forums running modified code, however you can try searching or asking for help with this over at www.vbulletin.org.
