I'm running vBulletin 4.2.0 Patch Level 2. New users are not required to be moderated; however, post count is important because they are required to make two posts to the forum to be able to view forum images.
I have edited the User Promotion scheduled task to perform this task every 5 minutes, so no user should have to wait more than 5 minutes for their promotion once they have made their second post. However, new users to the forum in the past several days have post counts that remain at 0, regardless of how many posts they have made. (I have no forums that are set to not increment post counts.) Additionally, I have set a new user's post count manually to the required 2, but subsequent posts don't increment them to 3. My post counts (admin) are incrementing correctly.
2 issues:
a. My scheduled Task Log shows that the task hadn't run since December 19th (4 days ago).
b. Regardless of the scheduled task not running automatically, when I ran the task manually this morning, the new users who have made two posts don't get promoted because their post count is at 0. They only get promoted if their post count is at 2.
This process has been working without issue for 2 years now. I have made no recent changes to the forum.
To troubleshoot, I have updated post counts at Maintenance/General Update Tools, I have rebuilt the statistics at the same location, and I upgraded the forum from Patch Level 1 to Patch Level 2.
No joy.
Any ideas?
