You ban a member, but don't delete his posts. Later, the fences are mended and he wants back, with his posts.
The system STILL lists him as a user even though he is listed as a guest because he cannot register under his old ID. Their old ID is allocated somewhere. I would love to tweak the database to make his ID active again if possible, and if their posts have NOT been un-attributed to them (which I suspect), then he could have them back.
I suspect that the links in the database are NEVER actually broken. All that happens is that the user is listed as a Guest. I want to tweak the database to change that.
If that cannot happen, then create a new ID and attribute their Guest posts to it as you say. How would you do that?
Right now, you CANNOT create a new account and MERGE the posts from the new account with the GUEST posts using the system post-merge or user-merge functions.
And this is what I want to do.
Any way to do it?
Thanks.
