Under Settings -> Options -> Site Name / URL / Contact Details, are all the necessary fields completed?

Out of curiosity, is this only happening with activation emails, or all vBulletin emails?

Appears to be all. I just sent myself an email through it. No forum name, missing URL, etc.
EDIT: Just double checked and we are actually on 4.1.3.

Any word on why this might be happening?

Could you provide a screenshot? The email should be pulling most of the information from that.

Though why it is addressing it to 'nobody', I have no clue, and might be something else.

*edit* Any reason you are running such an old version?

Here's a screenshot. Note that I signed up on the forum with the user names "nobody" and "nobody1" just for testing purposes, which is why it says nobody1 as a username.

Anything else needed on your end? This is an issue that we're hoping can be resolved soon.

What version of vBulletin are you using? What happened prior to the activation emails not working?
Are you using any third party addons?

Are the phrases for the activation emails correct?

This is a an almost 3 year old dead post that I am reviving. I have the same issue, over 2 years now, and my requests for help on vbulletin.com were first answered and then later ignored. I have this problem on 4.2.3.
