[Forum] some problems with the board

Hi folks,
We have some trouble with our board. Our system administrator hasn’t been contactable for a while and we don’t have the knowledge to fix these problems. So maybe someone can give us a tutorial how to fix them or look at our ftp server.

Here are some problems:

• Some users receives Trojan warning (this is the biggest problem)
• Sometimes topics can’t be created
• Smileys are disabled
• Videos can’t be insert
• board size is 1.8 GB, we considering this as too much but we don’t know what we can delete

We would be grateful for any help.

First and foremost are you running the latest version of vBulletin? Here are some tips for each of your issues:

1. Run a scan of your domain at http://sucuri.net/ to see if there is any malware.
2. Check usergroup permissions or you server's error logs. If you cannot view them ask your host. So long as users have permission to create threads in a given forum they should be able to.
3. How are smilies disabled? Do they just not show up? Are you sure the images are actually in your /images/smilies/ directory?
4. Check usergroup permissions. Video embedding is a per usergroup permission on vB 4.
5. Depending on how many threads, posts, and attachments your forum has 1.8 GB could normal. You would have to delete content to lessen the size.
