[CMS] Section and category widget

I am having trouble finding a way to show my sub section in a widget on its own across the top of my articles.
The main section is:
Games news then its sub sections are a - z
I want the a-z in a widget across the top of the page above the articles so users can find the games easily.

Is this possible as i cant seem to do it?

haven't been able to create a a-z list across the top so guess its not possible.
