[Forum] Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs + Infractions = 404

    Hey,

Some of our moderators have reported an issue with the Infraction system resulting in a 404.

Apparently, when using Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs and using the "Add Infraction" button in posts, filling out the form and submitting the form with the "Give Infraction" button, it redirects to the following URL: http://www.domain.com/threads?p=<postid>#post<postid>

That seems to fail to trigger the RewriteRule ^threads/.* showthread.php [QSA]

    We're running 4.1.12.

Is this a legitimate bug or something else interfering?

Are you using the component url setting for the forum?

Nope, all 3 Component URL settings are blank. There's no directory trickery going on either, the forum is directly in public_html

That is really weird, if you disable the fancy rewrites the problem still occurs?

Nope, using standard URLs the redirect works fine.

I can also confirm this on vB 4.2.0 PL0 on my localhost testing board. I was on page 2, and after clicking Give Infraction I got redirected to http://localhost/devboards/vb4/threads?p=225#post225

EDIT: Disabling hooks and this doesn't happen. I will disable all 3rd party addons and find the culprit that way

EDIT 2: T'was vBActivity I've added a hotfix to the package available on DBTech, it'll be perma-fixed in the next version

Interesting. Glad you got it figured out.
