[Forum] How to make "Show Signature" not clicked by default?

I want to have signatures on my forum but I want it to only show when I click on the "Show Signature" box not have it enabled by default

Is there a way to do that?

Just went there, there isn't any setting pertaining to signatures

What amaury said will not show signatures for to you but they will be there for others.

If you want to simply have that show sig box unchecked by default, you will have to edit templates.

Find <input type="checkbox" name="signature" id="cb_signature" value="1" checked="checked" tabindex="1" />
Replace with <input type="checkbox" name="signature" id="cb_signature" value="1" tabindex="1" />

Yes, just tried with the IETAB in Chrome that renders the page in IE but when I double click on the Show Thread Templates nothing happens

I hope someone can give me their teamviewer ID/Pass so I could logon to his system and enter my admin credentials perhaps he can do this for me

hmmm, just tried from my work PC which has Internet Explorer and nothing happens when I double click on the Show Thread

See if you can revert that template you've changed. If that didn't help

Disable Plugins/Products either via AdminCP or config.php

Settings >> Options >> Plugins/Hooks System (Click No then save).
or add this line near top in config.php file

 define('DISABLE_HOOKS', true);

I managed to get into the templates at last. my Host (HostGator) found the error in the Apache log preventing some script from running

but after I replaced the Find value with the Replace value you you mentioned and saved and reloaded, the checkbox is still checked for the Show Signature
