[Forum] Guests cant search on the forum :( ! !

Hello bros ,

can someone help me to fix this probleme ?

when guests try to use search systeme , they have 0 results ...
i want to display results of search to guests but to dont let them see the content .

If they can't see content then they won't find the results as search will only display what they have access to.

Also, if you're not allowing them to see the content, why would you want them to be able to search?

Not sure what you're doing to stop them from viewing content but if it's using the default vBulletin permissions I'm pretty sure that search will only display results which they have access to - For example if you have forum X, Y & Z but guests can't view anything in Y, then it will only search and display results from forums X & Z.

I think the only way you could allow them to search and get results but not actually view the content would be to implement one of those limit guest viewing mods.

Try these permissions:

Can View Forum: Yes
Can View Thread Content: No
Can Search Forums: Yes

It may work the way you want but the content won't be indexed by search engines. However I am pretty sure that Can View Thread Content has to be Yes for search to work properly.
