[Forum] What ports does vBulletin uses for Facebook connect?

Hi there, when I have my firewall for my vps server the facebook connect is super slow, when the firewall is off the website loads really fast with facebook connect.

If you guys could help me with the following it would be greatly appreciated.

Should be the standard web ports..

    80 and 443.

Yep, that's what I thought too...just checking for my host.
When I have config server firewall on my vps facebook connect loads super slow, when that is disabled then it works 100% fast.
Same issues with XenForo too, so it's just a firewall issues.

Might test with port 8080 open as well. I don't know if your firewall closes it but it is often used as an alternative to port 80.

Looks like that's not it either.

Humor me and try 5222. I read somewhere regarding Facebook Connect that it connects through that port. If that's not it, I will keep looking.

HTTP is port 80, or as mentioned they could use 8080 as well

Check your firewall log, find exactly what's going on. Also see which direction you're playing with, input or output.

Is it making Facebook Connect just slow, or is it preventing it from functioning altogether?

Perhaps you should hire a sysadmin.

                    It's handicapping my forums.

@Maurd, I have a fully managed web host, been having them look into this matter...

Ok, finally we got it fixed....
My host told me that they had to open up some IPV6 posts to make this work.
They are still trying to narrow it down to the exact ports.

Quite odd. Let us know the ports your host tells you if you wouldn't mind.

                          35000 to 55000
They are narrowing things down atm...

Is this the final solution to the Facebook Connect speed issue. I will forward this thread to my host, to see if they can finally fix this problem, that forces me to have my Facebook Connect disabled, when I want it to be enabled.

                            Thanks!

As I supposed, Hostgator told me they dont have anything to do with this error, and that answer just gets me sick. ¿Can anyone recommend me a good host for Vbulletin 4, that allow me to have enable my facebook Connect button, please?

Im also having problems with my emails, becuase they are not saving in my server, and loose a lot of time forwarding emails from my blackberry to my PC.

I need to move to a better service I think, ¿Do you think so?.. I am paying US$175 per month for a dedicated server.

Need your help please, becuase nobody assume the responsability for this facebook connect issue.

Thanks to all for your support
