    prefix_vb4_cmsanswered_title_rich Unable to edit stylevars after upgrade from 4.1.12 PL1 -> 4.2 PL2

If I click on a style var in the left panel, I get

Fatal error: Invalid style in tree: in [path]/admincp/stylevar.php on line 115
    #0 vb_error_handler(256, Invalid style in tree: , [path]/admincp/stylevar.php, 115,

plus a huge spew of arrays that is too large to copy/paste here

So far I have done the following to try to fix this on my own:

turned off all plugins (including blogs and cms)
    deleted old, unused styles
temporarily removed current styles so that only the 2 default VB styles were available (re-imported them when that didn't work)
used the maintenance tool to remove orphan stylevars
used the maintenance tool to rebuild styles

Searching the forums here found 2 posts with the same problem, neither one was answered definitively.

PS You should have a "none of the above" prefix if you are going to require them, as this issue doesn't fall under the given categories.

Try uploading tools.php from the do_not_upload directory into your /admincp and then point your browser to it and reimport the Master Style.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Thanks Lynne. I tried that, but it didn't help I think this may be the first time your response to one of my problems didn't help. I do appreciate your expertise though

I put in a ticket earlier, hopefully they will be able to figure it out.

Are you sure that you uploaded all of your files properly and in the right places during the server work prior to upgrading?

          From my support ticket:

I found the issue, your style parent list was fairly messed up. I manually fixed it.
((I was going to mark the original post as resolved, but apparently I can't do that))
