[Answered] Quick Reply or reply to PM not working

    Hi everyone,

Till yesterday i didn't have this issue but this morning when i went in my inbox to reply someone's private message i wasn't able to do so. I don't see any quick reply option or any other option to reply for incoming pm's at all. I have to go to that person's profile n click on send private message. Can someone help me fixing this error. How can i get back a quick reply box back

Thanks for the help in advance

Create a new style with no parent:
    • Styles & Templates > Style Manager > Add New Style
    • Parent Style: No Parent Style
    • Title: Default vBulletin
    • Allow User Selection: Yes
    • Save

Then browse the site using that totally default vbulletin style and try to reply to the PM - do you still have the same problem?

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

      Hi lynne,
I came up with few weird things...

I created a new style and it didn't do anything... i wasn't able to reply since i still don't see quick reply option..

After that i clicked on send a message and i got this error.

" MY NICK, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:
      1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
      2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

After that i clicked on one of my admins nick and it came with a threat blocked warning. Here is the screen shot for that if anyone can help me finding the solution for all this.

It looks like your forum was compromised. Trace the root of the problem and find out where the infected files are by running the Suspect File Versions tool and re-upload fresh files of the infected files.

Well i only get this warning when i click on a specific user's name to open his profile (i just made him user, he was admin.. so removed for security) when i click on his nick i get this warning but if i click on any other users profile i don't get any warning n it opens their profile in normal way. So to me it looks like that there is something wrong in his profile not sure how can i check that

i don't get this warning message anywhere else in my forum.

There still could be an infected file somewhere. I would run the tool just in case.

It's better to be safe than sorry.

they r a lot so m posting em hope no one will mind
Not pasting others LOL just these 2 folders.
File not recognized as part of vBulletin is normal. It just means it couldn't recognize the file, which means it's from a modification you have. Just make sure the modifications are modifications you installed yourself. The message you would want to have more concern over would be File does not contain expected contents.

I made his account from Admin to Member and there isn't any suspicious links or images with links etc in his profile. Unless someone posted anything in visitor messages which i can't access.

It's possible that an exploit was found in that modification you have and the hacker compromised your forum through that exploit.

Modification files should normally say File not recognized as part of vBulletin.

I just asked one of my user to send me a pm on forum and when she tried she came up with this error.

"The following errors occurred with your submissionMY$T has chosen not to receive private messages or may not be allowed to receive private messages. Therefore you may not send your message to him/her."

While i just checked all of my pm settings and i haven't disable it anywhere and all the settings are just the same as before

                          That, unfortunately, I don't know.

Let's just wait for one of the official vBulletin support staff to respond to this thread.

It is possible for modifications to include a md5sums file that enables checking of their files through the Suspect File Versions (vBSEO does this). It appears that modification has done so as well.
