Try rebuilding your avatar thumbnails. (Admin CP -> Maintenance -> General Update Tools -> Rebuild Custom Avatar Thumbnails and Rebuild Avatar Thumbnails)
Make sure that both thumbnail folders are writable by PHP. (By default, these are customavatars/thumbs and images/avatars/thumbs.)Comment

Fixed it.... I cleared the browser cache and they now seem to appear in CMSComment

I tried the fixes that were suggested here - I set customavatars/thumbs and images/avatars/thumbs from 755 to 777 and no luck... tried rebuilding avatar and custom avatar thumbnails and still didn't fix it... http://prntscr.com/12q8po
Is there any other way to fix this? Or does it just take time for the fixes to take affect?Comment

I have had this problem for a while now, and thought going to 4.2.2 would fix it. What template do I edit to fix this? http://www.gtarena.com/activity.phpComment
