Also, I did as you suggested and still got the database error. I temporarily disabled all mods and made a new vB default style since the one we have is a bit modified.

    So it's a bug?

Go ahead and write it up as a bug then. You should try to be as detailed as possible so that the devs may reproduce this issue. (You saw my steps that I posted, post something like that.)

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

        Thanks.

Also, if you want, I could send you a PM with a test admin account so you can try it for yourself on our forum. You could probably write up a better report than I could, anyway, since you're a lot more knowledgeable with vBulletin than I am.

        Let me know.

Edit: Also, what's your time zone?

Yeah, you can send me a PM. I'm in California, so PST is the time zone (same as yours).

We disabled all third party mods. Went to complete stock v4.2.0 and it still occurs. We did turn all of our mods back on, when we determined it was not a mod issue.

We already have an open ticket in the vBulletin Ticket System (that Zachary is looking at), with admin information for you to see it first hand.

Can someone please post a link here if they placed this in "JIRA" so I can vote and/or update? This is a problem as my moderators are constantly moving posts from threads to elsewhere and merging, and of course they think the world has ended when the DB error pops up, and then I get the emails...

FWIW - I have also created new styles with no parent and even tested this on a test forum, and it happens consistently.

There are actually two different types of cases I have seen regarding this error.

I think most of you are Forum Only and have this first problem:
Moving posts results in datatbase error (Forum Only)

I also saw one case that was with the Suite and I think it is a pretty rare case and isn't what most of you are seeing, but that report is here:
Moving posts results in datatbase error

Does anyone know if there has been a fix, or workaround for this? Or do we need to wait for the next release?

I posted a temporary fix in the bug report.

I read the report and was a bit confused. Is it possible you can post it in "dummy" terms here for me? I would REALLY appreciate it!
