    [Forum] Mobile Detection

    Hi,

    I'm currently on vBulletin version 4.1.11 and mobile browsers that hit my site will still load up the desktop version instead of the mobile style specified. My settings look to be in good shape, and users can manually switch to the mobile style if they want. It just won't load automatically.

    - I've specified the mobile style as the Default Style for Old and Modern Mobile browsers in Style & Language Settings
    - Users are allowed to change styles in Style & Language Settings
    - The 'Mobile Default' style is available for users to select manually

    Is there anything else I'm missing?

    I had that problem intermittently.

    What worked for a non-vBulletin site was to add the following to the <head> section of the pages on that site:

    HTML Code:
    <meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1"/>
    You could try adding that to the headinclude template under Styles >> Common Templates. Not sure if it will work or not.

    Alternatively, try Dartho's add-on at http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=249967 which sometimes seems to be more reliable than vBulletin's default version.
