[Forum] are you sure you want to leave this page

I keep getting this pop up, apparently off Internet explorer, every time I want to edit anything in my front, or other pages. Everytime I click on save, I get this pop up and the changes aren't saved. This is only happening on my vBulletin forum and not on anything else on the net or other web pages

Can anyone help. It's really annoying and is happening on IE and Safari

    I can't edit anything now.

Clicking "Leave Page" will actually save your edits. If you're receiving the message consistently, this means that AJAX communication is somehow failing in your browser. You don't have any settings or addons that prevent the server from pushing new information to your browser without reloading the page do you?

Clicking leave page, unfortunately does not save the edits. I've been through the settings and add ons but cannot solve it

If it works in one browser like Firefox or Chrome and not another like Internet Explorer. It would be a browser issue. When you go to save something, the system will attempt to send the data to your server via AJAX. This reduces load and page reloading. If the AJAX fails or a success message does not get processed by the Browser after a period of time, the Javascript (running in the browser) performs a standard submission for your data. This is what causes the dialog box to appear. The system is trying to load another page so we give you a warning.

If the edits do not save, then your browser is failing to send the information to begin with or otherwise interfering with the form submission.

You can turn off AJAX submission in the Options to work around this but it simply eliminates the problem and does not solve it.

Do you have the problem in a new style with no parents and no changes? Not even color edits.

It does it on safari and explorer.
The forum is 4.1.9 patch level 3 with no changes at all. Not even colour edits

I would suggest upgrading to vBulletin 4.1.12 and seeing if the problem persists.

You should start a new thread for these upgrade issues.

I had a problem when I upgraded from 4.1.9 specifically (never any other version) , my forum showed 4.1.10, but I had not completed the upgrade correctly somehow from 4.1.9, I couldnt find a reason why, and I lost some functionality as a result.

After Lynne's suggestions, I double checked my procedure, redownloaded the new version, and it installed fine, and the problems were solved ?

I still have this problem on 4.2. Is it safe to use the suggested solution on 4.2?

All code modifications are done at your own risk. I haven't seen that warning for several versions. Are you sure all your templates are up to date?

It only notes the templates from the style Lightweight - which is different from the original one and, as far as i am concermed, doesn't affect the main style.
