    [Forum] New users unable to register

    Can anybody help?

    I tried to register--TWICE--and just kept getting a blank page with this URL:

    I can confirm the above, are your registration setting in acp set correctly?

      They were fine until I upgraded the forum last week.

        If they're getting a blank page, check your server's error logs as there should be something in there. See also:

          I've just re-uploaded all the file and performed a


          Maintenance -> Diagnostics -> Suspect File Versions


          but nothjing was picked up so I'm still very confused. Think I'll contact my hosting comapny and get them to fix it.

            OK, I fixed it - I disabled the StopForumSpam plugin (the only one I have installed now) and the registration process is now working again.

              That will certainly stop your forum spam if no one can register.

                Well now it's been disabled I'm now back to getting the usual dozen or more daily spambot registrations. Why can't vBulletin have something like this built into the software so we don't have to rely on these third party plugins all the time and the inherrant problems with each upgrade?

                  Why don't you use the Human Verification Manager and just set up a question that bots will not know the answer to.

                    I tried that but there were still spammers signing up. I'm amazed at how ineffective the Captcha image system seems to have become. But yes, you're right, I'll set it up again with a question instead.

                      if the stop forum spam not working try installing a different one there are other spam plugins on vbulletin.org
