For several customers it was a firewall issue on the server blocking/delaying some parts of Facebook. Updated Firewall rules from the manufacturers probably helped alleviate issues.Translations provided by Google.

I disabled the Facebook platform after not being able to find a solution. Just being logged in to Facebook added at least .5 seconds and sometimes a few seconds of latency on each page load. I searched and haven't found definitive Facebook firewall requirements and tested with turning the firewall on my server temporarily.Comment

What? Slow page loads after enabling facebook? I found just adding a like button adds to the pageload time. This is because you have to wait for the facebook servers to generate the html to insert into your webpage. I currently run facebook login and publish on my forum and it adds at least 1 full second to the load time. I don't like it, I don't use facebook but the users want it. There is nothing vbulletin can do to speed up facebook servers.

What is the ping time between your server and Facebook? All the Facebook stuff loads off their servers. Due to this it will add to load times.Translations provided by Google.
