Something kicked in at some point and made the changes I have been trying to make for a couple of days, maybe when some sort of process ran but I don't know exactly when it happened. I was able to edit after that, but I don't know how long it will last. This is a frustrating problem. I am glad I did this upgrade on my newest site first because I have very little on it. I am afraid to try it on my bigger income earning sites now.
When I edit a CMS ariticle it wont save changes.

My site is http://cruise-addicts.com and I've turned set Disable Content Caching to YES since reading this thread and I'm going to see if this is a permanent fix. I agree with the others this is a major issue. Especially since I have contributors who don't have access to clear the CACHE manually when posting an article. Hopefully we can get this cleared up. I'm willing to help as best I can.Comment

I think the support don't think of this as a major issue because vB themselves don't use the CMS that often. Put themselves in us heavy CMS users shoes.Comment

Since there is a bug report in, I would suggest responding to it and putting any further information in it as well as voting.

Ok, Just for conversation sake why wouldn't a developer/support specialist from VB want to login to my server/site and with their knowledge and skill trouble shoot this for a possibly quicker fix? Its obviously a real issue beyond me alone and its the first time its show up in the CMS that I know of. Its a pressing issue for me and I've been patient since the previous version when the problem started. I think the problem does go away when I disable the CMS Caching in the server optimization of the admin panel. I also changed my config's data store back to the default from Xcache and it still didn't clear the bug with the CMS cache back on.Comment

If its a bug, a developer needs to look into it, its not supports job to fix bugs.Comment

Open a ticket, and link the bug report, we can add hidden responses to the jira report to show customers are having the problems.Comment

Just to add, I suffer from the same problem as you all do after going from 4.1.8 to 4.1.12. Running vBSEO 3.6.0 with APC cache turned on both that and vBulletin. I never disabled the vB system cache in troubleshooting, nor did I disable APC.
Since I am a bit bolder in troubleshooting compared to others (as I've seen in this thread), I did disable vBSEO (not at the plugin level, but within vBSEO's config.xml file), and it does make the problem disappear, but disabling vBSEO is not a solution to the problem for me.
For those of you with vBSEO, you might need to talk to them as well because it looks like they'll have to be involved. I can't say this is a vBulletin or vBSEO issue in its entirety, but it was a vBulletin update that did cause this to happen so I'm going to submit that to the aforementioned bug, and report this to vBSEO as well.Last edited by StevenTN; Sat 21 Apr '12, 7:14am.Proud Admin of http://www.thrillnetwork.com/
Finally live with vB4... I will say it's a pain in the bucket compared to what we're used to working with (using free CMS software no less).
