I Have the same problem also, My forum is Arabic since 4.1.2 with license, after upgrading to 4.1.11 I faced the same problem with many phrases, they show up in English although when I search in Languages and phrases I find the the Arabic translation is there, and some phrases are mixed Arabic and English

I have the same problem. In my case the activation and welcome mails are sent in English although default forum language is Polish and phrases are translated
It seems that vb always sends these mails using default languageid (-1)

      Regards

The most obvious question is what is your language set to in your User CP?
            Translations provided by Google.

set to Arabic as default with the option for users to switch to English, and had no problems at all with the same Arabic Language file and the same settings from 2.1.3 till 2.1.10, only problems started since upgrading to 4.1.11

This doesn't answer my question. I am not really interested in the default language but rather the exact setting you have for the language in your User CP.

You need a completely different file for 4.X than you used for 2.X. You'll need to upgrade your language.
