    [Forum] Double "forum" in URL.

    Hey,

I know this must be a quick fix, and I searched, but I couldnt find anything, so I apologize if its a noob question!

I am trying to make my forum SEO friendly, and I just activated mod rewrite friendly urls and removed the "forum.php" at the end of the main directory.

However, while the forum urls work now, i have two "forums" in the url instead of the desired one, for example:

    http://www.mydomain.com/forum/forums/2-Main-Forum

I obviously want just: http://www.mydomain.com/forum/2-Main-Forum, as this would be much friendly for SEO, and it just looks alot better.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Thanks in advance for help! I appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Karo

    Don't use the mod_rewrite links.
Use a third party program/addon to change the rules
    Custom code new rules yourself.

No? Do you have any suggestions for addons/plugins that will help me out for URLs and seo? I know i can search on vb.org, but I always have trouble telling the difference between crap mods and good ones. If you could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.

      Thanks for the help man!

Are there any that are free? Not that I care about 150$ really, but I heard its fairly easy to achieve the same SEO juiciness with free plugins and mods.

              Thanks for the info.

I will buy vbSEO if i have to... but is there not any alternative? It just seems a bit odd that the only option for vbulletin SEO is a single paid plugin, these guys must make a killing..

Also, can anyone answer my original question removing the extra "forum" from the URL?

                Bump.

I would love to get these questions answered if it is possible! Trying to wrap up my forum stuff this weekend.

Good SEO plugins? How to remove the extra "forum" from url?

                Thanks!

I did answer your questions. Those are the only offical answers you're going to get. The default software does not support custom rewrite rules, changing it requires a modification to the software.
