[Forum] Posting Threads Issue In IE (32/64 Bit) -- Message Is Too Short...

    Using vBulletin 4.1.10 production suite.

My members are having a problem with Internet Explorer (32 + 64 bit) and are getting the following error when trying to send a private message or posting a post/thread:

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters."

How do I go about fixing this for Internet Explorer?

My site works just fine in Chrome/Firefox/Safari and mobile browsers.

    Thanks.

Does this happen in a new style with no parent?

Nope. It has happened with every custom skin that I have put in though.

Is there something in custom styles that can possibly get overwritten that needs to be there in order for this to work properly?

Possibly... If you're using an older style with a new version there could be javascript routines or templates that weren't merged completely and are out of date. Try reverting all templates with the word editor in them as well as the New Posting templates.

The style was just created and was made specifically for vBulletin 4.1.10 (the newest vBulletin version).

What templates have the word editor in them?

The only template that has been edited that has any kind of word editor in it was the "SHOWTHREAD" template and that has been reverted and posting in IE9 still does not work.

You'll need to open a support ticket then as I have no idea why it would work in every browser except IE. https://www.vbulletin.com/go/techsupport. The support reps will need full access to your Admin CP, FTP and Database control panel to look for the issue.

@ShaneJeffery86, did you ever identify the source of the problem? One of our users discovered this same thing today when they tried to post.
