    [Forum] Image upload problems

When clicking the "Insert Image from URL" and "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" about 50% work fine, the other half give me this error message: "imageInfo failed: <pre> </pre>"

    Any ideas what's causing this?

What plug-ins do you have installed? What version of vBulletin? Posting a bit more info will help a great deal.

Please provide us with a link that failed. Sometimes it will fail if the the link doesn't point to a valid image.

The links are from amazon - when they fail I simply uncheck the "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" option and embed them that way.

Please provide us with an example. That way we can verify if this is a problem with the link URL or another problem.

              Here's an example link/image:

I just tried embedding it the same way on here and I get a message saying it's not a valid image file.

I got the same message "Invalid Url" on my forum. I suspect Amazon is preventing hot linking of images. When you run across this type of problem you just have to download the image to your hard disk and then use then upload the image as an attachment.

No, that's not the case - as I said, most will embed just fine, but some won't and I get that error.

Can you provide an example link?

I already did above. Most work fine but a few don't.

As I said before, some URL's don't work and I don't know why. The example you provided has shown to not work for me either so it sounds like you don't have a problem that is unique to your forum, but either a bug in the vBulletin software or some other issue. Would you like to create a Jira for this and use the link you provided as an example?
