[Forum] CKeditor initial lag and lost characters (vB 4.1.10)

When we type into the quick reply (or other CKeditor windows) on our site there seems to be a lag and the first few keystrokes are lost
Further, on dark skin, the text area flashes white for an instant.

I can reproduce the behaviour here on vb.com...
    1. Copy some text into the paste buffer
    2. Display a thread
    3. Wait for the page to fully load
    4. Scroll down to Quick Reply window
    5. Click in the window and quickly type Ctrl/v
    6. The text does NOT display
    7. Type Ctrl/v a second time and the text does display

Our members see this as simply losing the first few characters they type.
The issue is much more obvious with a dark skin.

I traced the javascript with Firebug and noticed that when I click in the QR window an ajax call gets fired 'do=editorswitch'.
It maybe that being in Australia and our site being hosted in the USA that the turn around on the ajax call is slower than some might expect.
However, the 'net is global and some people are a long way from the server as well as being on slow links.

I have a feeling the initial ajax call is probably redundant.

It's been confirmed in Jira... please vote

I can also confirm this issue and like you said, is quite noticeable in a dark style. I voted, hopefully the issue is fixed in the next update.

Whenever you click into the editor input field (both quick reply and advanced) you see a very short white "flash" after clicking into the field. If you already started to post (you have to be really quick) the first character you typed gets lost. But after that "flash" everything is fine, the editor background is black as supposed and functionality is normal. <snip>

I can confirm what Scott posted (I had to retype the "I can" in this post). It happens to me in the regular default style. I thought it was just me and my other internet activity.

Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

            I laughed

This happens on my board as well so I voted for it.

It is also happening on my board too. In the dark style you see a white flash.

Looks like a quick fix, Allen has put it into "Fix Version/s: 4.1.11 Sprint Backlog"

I had this issue but it seems to have gone away since we migrated to a new server over the weekend. I really don't understand it at all.
