Just got hacked after several months of peace. The hacker doesn't seem to have done much harm, but he did screw up the forum skins' CSS, all skins now look like someone has installed a vBulletin 3 skin on vB4. Any way to repair the skins?

First, reupload all new fresh files to your site (make sure to download the correct version). Then upload the tools.php file from your do_not_upload directory to your /admincp and run it. ( You will need to upload the /install directory (without the /cmsdefaultdata directory or the install.php or upgrade.php file) in order to run the tools.php script. ) Point your browser to the tools.php file and reimport the Master Style. See if that fixes the issue. (Make sure to delete the tools.php and /install directory afterwards.)
Please don't PM or VM me for support - I only help out in the threads.

If I post CSS and you don't know where it goes, throw it into the additional.css template.

Usually an undefined function means that file that contains the function is missing. Did you reupload all new default files like I requested? You should then run Maintenance > Diagnostics > Suspect File Version to make sure no default files are listed as missing or not containing expected contents.

I'll get back to you on the undefined function when I've reopened the forum!“Human beings are animals: very unusual animals, to be sure, but nevertheless animals. In origin, we are not fallen angels, but apes arisen.” — Michael H. HartComment

Somehow the hacker messed with the following plugins:
When enabled, all forum skins' CSS turn out completely messed up. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling these plugins, but that doesn't make a difference.“Human beings are animals: very unusual animals, to be sure, but nevertheless animals. In origin, we are not fallen angels, but apes arisen.” — Michael H. HartComment

Almost certainly there will be malicious code either within of the plugins within each product, or in an additional plugin somewhere.
If you want to submit a support ticket for my attention I can have a look - I'll need admincp access and ftp access.MARK.B

Yeah, I did a base64 search, and there was some of it there. Create the ticket, I'm going to delete all these aaggregate_temp_ tables first, and then you can have a look.“Human beings are animals: very unusual animals, to be sure, but nevertheless animals. Yeah, I reuploaded the entire vB 4.2.2 pl 1 folder, but I've figured out what the problem was. It wasn't the skins, but a plugin he apparently had modified or something, and when disabled, the forum skins are all fine.
I'll get back to you on the undefined function when I've reopened the forum!
You will also need to manually check Admin CP -> Products & Plugins -> Plugin Manager (not Product Manager) and look for any plugins at the very top listed under the vBulletin Product. These plugins are not default code and are often used by hackers to leave backdoors and other malicious code. If there are any plugins udder the vBulletin product be very suspicious. If you can't confirm with absolutely certainty the plugin is safe and legit disable it.Comment
