It went unanswered and ultimately got answered in a different thread some one started later.
I lost data because of rolling back suspecting something else.
Why dont VB send out a pm to the PAYING customers of these issues?
Seriously would have saved me a few days of work and wasted time.FTW Forum <- Home of the damned!Comment

Because there are so many open issues, and more filed daily, it would be a massive amount of unwanted spam PMs.
(This issue was answered/fixed by CvP on the 15th of January. If PAYING customers bothered to search PROPERLY, they would save themselves many days of work and wasted time.)My Live vB5 Site - NZEating.com

I had posted this here and on vb.org to find the problem.

EXACTLY!!!!
This is a vBulletin error, and due to vBulletin not caring whether or not my forum works correctly, I spent 3 days finding and fixing this problem myself!
I came here now to inform anyone else who was having the same problem, but it seems I need not have bothered, because the nice people at vBulletin have already pinpointed and fixed the problem... they just forgot to inform their paying customers!
Thanks, vBulletin, I'm so glad I spent my hard earned money on 2 vBulletin licenses instead of opting for free bulletin board software... because your customer support is really worth the money!Comment

You may have done something incorrectly that prevented you from receiving an email when it was updated.
(Because that is the way to keep appraised of specific bugs. They are not sent out in mass email blasts on an individual level.)My Live vB5 Site - NZEating.com

How specifically did you subscribe to this bug in Jira?

e2a: ... how would this be at "an individual level"? This is a vbulletin error that potentially affects every vbulletin user, no?Comment

What on earth do you mean by that? You make it sound like the customer is wrong for daring to modify a colour in the CSS, or that they somehow modified it incorrectly, when in fact, this isn't the case, so I will reiterate... this is a problem that potentially affects every vBulletin user... no?Comment

Well I stand corrected! - vBulletin knowing that customers' forums may be completely messed up and users unable to use the search facility, is considered a 'minor bug', and not worthy of an email to advise of the potential issue.
Be sure to let me know if you find any major bugs... thanks!Comment

Sorry it was a visual issue only. It doesn't affect searching or returning results. Pressing return on the search field submits the search field.Translations provided by Google.

Thanks anyway, at least now I know not to expect a heads-up for such trivial matters.Comment
