How to Restrict Posting in Main Forums?

We have many people who post threads in main forums, instead of the specific sub forums created for posting.

This leaves us moving dozens of posts daily, which takes up a lot of time and energy every day.

Is there a way to restrict members from posting in main forums, without blocking their ability to post in the sub forums?

Thank you for your support, we are truly grateful.

Try this and see if that's what you are looking for exactly.

Admincp > Forums & Moderators > Forum Manager > Go to your "Main Forum" (the one you don't want the posts in and EDIT > Scroll down and select "Forum is open" as NO.

    Hope this helps.

      It worked, thank you!

This was a bug from previous versions where doing this would stop posts from being allowed in the sub forums under it. They must have fixed it some time back without us noticing.

Thanks again, you saved us a lot of extra time each day moving threads and we are truly grateful.

You should have been able to customize permissions on that level as well, to accomplish the same thing. But I'm glad you got it resolved.
