Caching to reduce server load and bandwidth?

I have a feeling my site isn't taking advantage of caching and could be more efficient.
We average about 3000 visits per day and 100k pages according to awstats (not the best I know).
Averaging about 4gigs of data per day. Doesn't that seem excessively high?

Is there anything I can do to make the site more efficient?
I have gzip on and also external CSS.

Run a test on this site and it will grade you on what could be done.

I got 61 on mobile: Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

      Enable compression

If my server has gzip installed, shouldn't this be compressing it automatically?I read somewhere that if your server has gzip running, you don't need vb compression running because it just uses resources? Leverage browser caching

and has the same main issues.
